Kuala Sepetang (十八丁), formerly known as Port Weld..is about 20 minutes away from Taiping..I didn't know Sepetang was actually the "Port Weld" that we all knew from our Buku Sejarah N-years ago before I was here!.."Pihak Inggeris membina jalan keretapi yang pertama dari Taiping ke Port Weld untuk mengankut bijih timah..J.W.W Bird telah dibunuh semasa dia sedang mandi.." :p 50 years of Independence, the railways were dismantled..and what is being left here is a Chinese fishing community...and also the famous curry mee with fresh sea products..
